Isla is a reformer pilates studio in Bophut, on the north coast of Koh Samui, a few minutes from Fisherman’s Village. Ten wooden reformers, so a class is never more than ten people. Every class is taught in English, beginners are in the room every day, and you book online in a minute.

What a class here is like

A reformer is a sliding carriage on springs. You push, pull and hold against the resistance, lying, kneeling or standing, and the springs make each movement either easier or harder than it would be on a mat. Fifty minutes, ten people, one teacher watching every carriage. Classes marked All Levels mix first-timers with regulars; the teacher changes the springs, not the class.

The reformers are wooden, not steel, which is unusual on the island and is most of why people photograph the room. The studio is small on purpose: the whole point of a reformer class is that somebody is looking at your form.

Prices

A pack’s days count from your first booking, not from the day you buy. Private 1-on-1 sessions are on their own page: private pilates in Koh Samui.

Your first class

Arrive ten minutes early and say it is your first time. Grip socks are required (sold at the desk), form-fitting clothes are easier than baggy ones, and you need nothing else. The teacher sets up your machine and shows you the springs and the footbar before the class starts. Nobody is watching you; everybody is concentrating on their own carriage. Most first-timers start with the intro offer, three classes, and the clock on it does not start until you book the first one.

Getting here from your hotel

The studio is on the Bophut side of the north coast. Use the map pin rather than an address — Samui road numbering is not something a driver can follow. Open the studio on Google Maps.

Questions people ask before they come

Where is reformer pilates in Koh Samui?
Isla Pilates Samui is in Bophut on the north coast, a few minutes from Fisherman's Village — about 10 minutes from Chaweng, 10 from the airport, 15 from Maenam and 20 from Lamai by car or scooter. The Google Maps pin is the address; Samui street numbers are not reliable.
Can a complete beginner do a reformer class?
Yes. Every class marked All Levels is taught with beginners in the room. Arrive ten minutes early, say it is your first time, and the teacher sets your springs and footbar and adjusts the class around you. Most first-timers start with the intro offer.
How much does a reformer pilates class cost in Koh Samui?
At Isla a single drop-in is ฿900. The intro offer for first-timers is 3 classes for ฿1,800. Packs of 5, 10 and 20 bring the price per class down, and a private 1-on-1 reformer session is ฿2,500.
How many people are in a class?
Ten at most, because there are ten reformers. Places are not numbered — you choose a machine when you arrive.
What should I bring to reformer pilates?
Grip socks, which are required for safety and sold at the desk if you forget, and water. Form-fitting clothes are easier than baggy ones, which can catch in the springs. No mat or shoes needed.
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Book online — classes of ten fill, especially mornings. A free account takes a minute, payment is by card or PromptPay, and you can cancel free up to three hours before the class.
Are the classes in English?
Yes. Every class is taught in English; the website is in English and Thai.
Is there a pilates retreat on Koh Samui?
Yes — Isla runs a reformer pilates retreat on your own dates, from three nights, with a class every day, a partner hotel near the studio, airport transfers and the ride to class included. Meals, spa and private sessions are optional add-ons.

Staying longer?

If pilates is the reason for the trip rather than something to fit around it, Isla runs a reformer pilates retreat on Koh Samui on your own dates: a class every day, a partner hotel near the studio, airport transfers and the ride to class included, from three nights.
