For hotels and resorts in Koh SamuiA weekly class on your beach, run by somebody else

You have the space and the guests who ask for yoga at breakfast. Isla has the instructors, the mats and a booking page. We run a 60-minute mat class on your beach or lawn once a week, fill it with our own clients as well as yours, and leave you with a wellness offering that costs you no payroll and no equipment.

Mats and the studio's letters set up on a resort beach in Koh Samui, waves behind, before a sunrise class
Set up on a partner beach before sunrise. The letters, the mats and the teacher arrive together; the hotel provides the sand.

How it works

Why a hotel says yes

A weekly class is the cheapest wellness programming a resort can put its name to: no instructor on the payroll, no equipment to buy or store, nothing to insure and nothing to manage. Guests who have been asking about yoga get an answer at check-in. And the visitors we bring arrive before breakfast and stay for it — they are a table in your restaurant that did not exist on a Tuesday morning.

Where it already runs

The Friday mat pilates class fills every week. Both classes are open on the public schedule, which is the fastest way to see how one of these actually looks before you commit to anything.

Who we are

Isla Pilates Samui is a reformer studio in Bophut with ten wooden reformers, eight teachers and 4.9 on Google from 189 reviews. We teach around a hundred classes a month at the studio, two weekly classes at partner resorts, and private classes at villas across the island.

Also for your guests

Concierges send guests to us for private yoga and mat pilates in their villa, and for reformer classes at the studio. If a weekly class is not right for your property, that arrangement needs nothing from you at all.

Questions

What does the hotel have to provide?
A flat outdoor space — a stretch of beach, a lawn, a deck or a sala — and a weekly slot, usually early morning. Nothing else: no equipment, no storage, no staff time.
Who teaches the class?
A certified instructor from the studio in Bophut, who teaches at Isla every week. The same teacher wherever possible, so your guests see a familiar face.
What does it cost the hotel?
There is a flat fee per class and no rent, no commission on your guests and no monthly commitment. The figure depends on the day and the space, so it is agreed in a short conversation rather than quoted here.
What do guests pay?
Outside visitors pay ฿500 a class, booked and paid through Isla. Whether your own guests pay that, or you include the class in a package, is the hotel’s decision.
Will it bring people who are not staying with us?
Yes, and that is much of the point: Isla markets the class to its own clients and to residents, capped so that your guests always have room. They arrive early, and they tend to stay for breakfast or coffee afterwards.
Yoga or pilates?
Either. Mat pilates and mat yoga both travel — no machine is involved. One of the two classes running now is yoga and the other is pilates.
Is there a contract?
Yes. A short wellness services agreement is signed before the first class runs — never on a handshake — and it carries no minimum term.
Can you also teach a private class for one of our guests?
Yes. A private class in a villa, a suite or on the beach is ฿3,500 for one or two people and ฿1,000 for each person after that, arranged directly with the guest or through your concierge.
How soon can a class start?
Usually within a fortnight of agreeing a slot — the teacher, the mats and the booking page are all in place already.
