Questions guests ask

Do I need to have Pilates experience?
No. Our instructors regularly welcome guests trying Pilates for the first time, and adjust each class for the mix of levels in the room. As long as you can handle moderate movement without medical restrictions, you'll be in good hands.
Are the Pilates classes private or in a group?
Group classes, typically 5–8 people, in our intimate Reformer studio. This is part of the Isla experience — practicing alongside our regular community. If you'd prefer private 1:1 sessions, you can add these as an upgrade.
What are the meals like?
Breakfast every morning at the hotel. Lunch daily at Isla Café — fresh, nutrient-dense menus designed to fuel your week. Two curated dinners with the group (welcome and closing nights). The remaining evenings are yours to explore Bophut and Fisherman's Village — we'll share our favourite local spots, from beachfront seafood to authentic Thai kitchens.
How fit do I need to be?
Moderately fit is more than enough. Reformer Pilates is low-impact and easy on the joints. If you have specific injuries or conditions, let us know in advance and we'll adjust the program.
Where will I stay?
Your accommodation is at The Culture Samui, a 5-star boutique hotel on Bophut Beach. Daily breakfast is included. The hotel is 10 minutes from Samui Airport and 7 minutes from our studio.
What about jet lag?
Day 1 is intentionally light — arrival, a slow welcome dinner and early rest. The structured program begins on Day 2 once you've slept.
What should I pack?
Light activewear for Pilates, swimwear, comfortable casual clothes for evenings, and a light layer for the studio's air-conditioning. Detailed packing list sent with your booking confirmation.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Our café handles vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergies, and most other dietary needs. Let us know when you book.
How do I get to Koh Samui?
Fly into Samui Airport (USM). Direct flights from Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. We pick you up from the airport — included in your retreat.
Can I bring a partner who won't do the retreat?
Yes. They can share your room and use the hotel and beach freely. We'll quote the additional cost based on shared accommodation and meal preferences.
Why does pricing vary by season?
Hotel rates in Koh Samui change with the season. Low season (April–October, November–mid-December) is our most affordable. High season (January–March, July–August) and peak season (late December) cost more. We confirm exact pricing by email after your enquiry.
What's the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 14, 21 or 30 days before arrival depending on season. Within that window, one night's stay is charged (full stay during peak season, 20 Dec – 4 Jan). Full terms shared with your booking confirmation.
When do I pay?
Once we confirm your dates, full payment is due 14–30 days before arrival depending on the season. We accept bank transfer and credit card.
Do I need travel insurance?
Strongly recommended. We're not insurers — please arrange your own coverage for trip cancellation, medical and luggage.
When's the best time of year?
Koh Samui is warm year-round. January–April is driest. May–October is greener with occasional showers. November–December has the rainiest period. Pricing varies by season.
